Dr. David Wilkinson
Prof. David Wilkinson is an expert in applied electrochemical engineering and a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Clean Energy and Fuel Cells. Prior to this appointment at UBC, he was the VP of R&D at Ballard Power Systems. Until 2003, Dr. Wilkinson was the leading all-time fuel cell inventor in terms of issued US patents. In addition to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada, he has received numerous awards for his innovative work, including 2014 Grove Medal, the R.A. McLachlan Memorial award, the highest professional engineering award in BC. Dr. Wilkinson’s expertise in applied electrochemical engineering will be key to the development of electrochemical processes for water treatment.
