Expert Advisory Group
RES’EAU-WaterNET’s Expert Advisory Group (EAG) provides guidance on the overall direction of the Network’s research agenda. EAG members bring a wealth of international expertise to our efforts. They also serve as invaluable resources for members of RES’EAU-WaterNET’s Board of Directors with respect to setting the Network’s research directions and priorities, just as they enhance the global profile of our researcher teams.
Michele Prévost is an NSERC Industrial Research Chair (IRC) and a professor at the Department of Civil, Geological, and Mining Engineering at École polytechnique de Montréal. Professor Prevost has more than 17 years of experience in research and technology in the areas of water treatment and distribution. Her main research interests are: (i) Optimization of treatment (disinfection, filtration and biological treatment), (ii) Distribution systems (DS integrity, corrosion control and water quality modeling), and (iii) Public Health (impact of drinking water on gastrointestinal illnesses).
Karl G. Linden is the Liebman Faculty Fellow at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado School of Engineering. His research focuses on investigation of alternative disinfectants and advanced oxidation for water and wastewater treatment. Specifically, efficacy of UV irradiation for inactivation of persistent and emerging pathogens; and the investigation of advanced oxidation processes for the degradation of environmental pollutants of concern in clean and reclaimed water for reuse. Other experience in biological treatment processes, environmental toxicology, industrial wastewater treatment, greywater reuse, streambank stabilization and classification, natural treatment technologies, appropriate treatment technologies, bioremediation techniques, and anaerobic treatment processes.
Brent Alspach is a Senior Project Engineer with Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. (California, USA) specializing in potable water supply, quality, and treatment. As a leader of the company’s membrane treatment practice, Mr. Alspach is a recognized authority in both membrane filtration (MF/UF) and desalination (NF/RO). He is a primary author of the USEPA Membrane Filtration Guidance Manual and is widely consulted by state primacy agencies on membrane regulatory issues. Mr. Alspach has also authored or co-authored over 40 published reports and articles, has been an invited speaker at several national conferences.
