RES'EAU researchers tap into cutting edge technologies and research services

RES'EAU WaterNET researchers now have access to a world-class analytical laboratory with state-of-the art instrumental facilities at the University of Victoria.

Over the last few years staff have built expertise in such areas as:

Method Development and Analysis of Environmental Samples
Research in Water and Watershed Ecology
Monitoring Water Quality and Field Sampling
Simulation Modeling with High Performance Computer Systems for GIS and Remote Sensing
Determination of Zooplankton Size-Distribution using an Optical Plankton Counter and Image Analysis System
Assessment of Fish Communities using Split-Beam Hydro-Acoustic System Data Interpretation

As pictured above, the laboratory – under the supervision of RES'EAU WaterNET lead researcher and Scientific Management Committee Member Dr. Asit Mazumder – offers analytical support and service for researchers in various areas of environmental science. They have a high level of expertise in aquatic and freshwater science and regularly provide analytical services and consultation at cost to researchers, as well as laboratory analyses for collaborative research projects.
